According to the interview with a bakery chef in the hotel ICON, a fascinating fact was revealed that the most challenging process in preparing bakery was stirring the eggs. Therefore, we aim to reduce the time of stirring egg white and subsequently improve the energy efficiency of the process.

The “X-celerator” is designed to use axial fan to blow the air into the egg white, which serves as the key feature to reduce the time of stirring the egg white.

Wine Saber

Drinking wine has become more popular. However, how to deal with leftover wine has been a concern. 

"WINE SABER" is a tool to pump out most of the air from the bottle, then inject a small amount of argon gas into the wine bottle.  The gas layer has prevented oxidation, which achieves the effect of saving the opened wine.

In our daily life, tap water may look clean; however it may still contain potentially harmful contaminants. So, this project aims to design and develop a product that it can reduce the amount of these pollutants so that clean and pollutant-free water is immediately available from the water tap at home.

The activated carbon filtering and UV technology are used in this project.  Validation is carried out according to the NSF/ANSI Standard 55 (National Sanitation Foundation) to check the efficiency of the UV system. NSF 42 and NSF 53 are also selected to check the drinking water the health effect respectively.

Mosquitoes-borne diseases, including Dengue viruses, Malaria and Yellow fever, become more severe nowadays, even causes lots of death. There are actually many existing products for both types of mosquito traps and repellents in the market, but they are not that effective enough to help people get rid of mosquito attacks. Some of them even have affection to human’s living by releasing chemicals or producing a loud noise suddenly. Besides, when users are cleaning up the mosquito dead bodies, the uncertain direct contact may occur.

In the view of these problems, a high effectiveness and user-friendly mosquito trap – CYC-Beatz is designed. It uses the new attractant – human heartbeat frequency together with UV light as the attractants, and cyclone application for drawing the mosquito to follow the air flow and finally stick onto the sticky wall for clean disposal.

BamBread-a portable toaster

A portable toaster is designed for the young office workers, students and housewives, to let them have fast and healthy breakfast anywhere and anytime they want, and thus helps living a low-carbon and healthier life.

The portable toaster, named “BamBread”, is used by holding in hand. It is small enough to be stored in drawers, carried in bag, and elegant to put on desks no matter in the office or at home. It is rechargeable, free from cables. With high efficiency and low energy consumption PTC heater, the product can reach high temperature while achieving portable characteristic with small battery. Users can enjoy the toast within one minute. Thermal insulation material and ergonomic design are applied ensures the safety and comfort of the user. This article would deliver the design and development process of the product, from research stage to the marketing strategy planning.

Air Ring consists of a air blower which can generate a circular air wall which can prevent oil splattering while cooking, at the same time, centralize cooking fume to be extracted by range hood, in order to protect housewives and cooks from oil splattering, breathing in harmful gases and reduce the smell created by deep frying and frying.
