Short Description

Dr Sun is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prior to this, he worked as a Research Associate in the Robotics Institute, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He received the PhD degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2017, the master’s degree from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2012, and the bachelor’s degree from Hefei University of Technology (HFUT) in 2009. He was a recipient of the Best Paper award at the IEEE-ROBIO 2019 conference, and the Best Student Paper Finalist award at the IEEE-ROBIO 2015 conference. His research interests include robotics and autonomous systems, autonomous driving, deep learning, advanced driver assistance systems, semantic scene understanding, robotic navigation, localization, mapping and exploration, etc. His personal website: https://yuxiangsun.github.io/.
