ME Students Clinch Outstanding Project Award

The Hong Kong Joint Branch of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects and the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology has organized a Final Year Project Competition to recognize outstanding student final year projects in engineering study.   A team of three BEng(Hons) in Mechanical Engineering students of Department of Mechanical Engineering, PolyU has been awarded with Outstanding Final Year Project Awards.

Reducing Pollutant Emission from a Diesel Engine Using Alternative Fuels

Project Description:

The study aims to investigate the effects of the blended fuels on reducing NOx, CO, CO2, HC, the mass concentration, the number concentration, and the size concentration of the particulates, in order to reduce the emission of the engine, such as nitrogen oxides (NOx), particles, and carbon monoxide, which bring great negative effect on environment and human.
