A team of undergraduate students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering have won the Bronze Award at the Jardine Engineering Corporation Outstanding Engineering Project Award 2010/2011.
Competing with total sixteen teams from The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The City University of Hong Kong this year, the PolyU team of three Product Analysis and Engineering Design students has received the Bronze Award for their project ‘Eco- Friendly Food Defroster’:

The team developed a new product called FasThaw360 which helps thaw food with no energy, no microwave, no water consumption and no chemicals. The product can be used on frozen items of almost all shapes and size.
Jardine Engineering Corporation Outstanding Engineering Project Award (OEPA) was first launched in Hong Kong in 2005. Full-time undergraduate or post-graduate students of local universities in any engineering disciplines are invited to form as team of 2-5 to join the competition.
