ME alumnus, Dr. Jiangang Chen (as PhD candidate 2007~2010 and Research Associate 2010~2012, with Dr. Zhongqing Su) was recently offered a postdoctoral fellowship from Columbia University, and is now working in the Ultrasound and Elasticity Imaging Laboratory at Columbia University as a postdoctoral research scientist. His postdoctoral research project focuses on harmonic motion imaging for tissue elasticity characterization and high intensity focused ultrasound for tumor treatment.
During his PhD study in ME (2007-2010), Dr. Chen investigated propagation characteristics of ultrasound waves in soft/hard-tissue-coupled media, and research outputs have large potential to enhance the precision of quantitative ultrasound-based bone assessment and damage detection for submerged engineering structures. He also worked in Laboratoire d'Imagerie Paramétrique at Paris VI University as an exchange student under the supervision of Prof. Pascal Laugier in 2010.
Congratulations to Jiangang on the achievement and wish every success in the new post!
