Ir KK Lo (former Engineer of Department of Mechanical Engineering) has recently been awarded the prestigious 2016 Outstanding Student Section Advisor Award by ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers). Ir Lo is the 1st awardee outside North America since the launch of the Award in 1992.
The Award is open to nomination from all ASME Sections worldwide every year and the ASME Headquarters select the most outstanding nominee for the Award. Ir Lo has been serving as an advisor for the ASME Student Section at PolyU for more than 10 years. During the period, he has dedicated to inspire students by providing guidance to students on a wide range of activities that stimulate interest in the mechanical engineering profession. His endless encouragement and leadership are well recognized with this prestigious award.
The Award Presentation Ceremony will be held in ASME’s International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE) in Phoenix, Arizona, USA in November 2016.
Ir KK Lo has completed his 40 years distinguished service at PolyU in August 2015. During his tenure, he has gained accolades from both students and colleagues for his dedication and willingness to help students. The student teams of Department of Mechanical Engineering led by Ir Lo have received an array of student competitions, especially the ASME International Student Design Competition.
