Biography

Siyuan received his Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2023.  He holds a M.Sc. degree in Systems Engineering from University of California, Berkeley, and a B.Eng. degree in Civil Engineering from Tongji University in Shanghai.

Siyuan’s research focuses on the development and application of data-driven approaches into shared mobility system and other transportation scenarios.  Specifically, his research interests include: 1) machine learning based traffic forecasting, 2) reinforcement learning based operational optimization, 3) transportation economy for on-demand mobility, and 4) simulation platforms for multi-modal transportation.  The research will assist in the establishment of an intelligent, connect and efficient transportation system.

Education and Academic Qualifications

  • Recepient of the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship from 2019 to 2023
  • RedBird Academic Excellence Reward of HKUST in 2022
