The Shipping and Trade Alliance for Research (STAR) Forum, held today as part of Hong Kong Maritime Week 2025, was a significant success, organised by the Shipping Research Centre, PolyU.
The forum kicked off with an inspiring opening by Forum Chair Prof. Mike Lai Kee-hung, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Business, Chair Professor of Shipping and Logistics, and Interim Head of the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies. Distinguished scholars including Prof. Yang Dong, Prof. George Q. Huang, and Prof. Achim I. Czerny from PolyU, as well as Prof. Bai Xiwen from Tsinghua University, Dr Venus Lun from LSCM, and Prof. Jasmine Lam Siu-lee from the Technical University of Denmark, shared their valuable insights and expertise in various aspects of the maritime industry.
Participants also engaged in parallel sessions in the afternoon that explored specific topics in depth, fostering dynamic discussions and collaborative learning.
