Grand Launching of the Learning to Learn Website

The Learning-to-Learn Website was offically launched by Professor T. P. Leung VP(SSD) on 27 January, 2003 and is now available.

Certificate Short Course: Develop Good Learners in Your Subject | top |

A 4-session certificate course introducing a range of learning-to-learn instruments with the focus on how to use them to develop good learners and their potential as a starting point for doing classroom research.

Learning to Learn Network

About the Network | top |

The Learning-to-Learn Network is a continuation of the UGC-funded "Learning-to-Learn" Project. It gathers a group of enthusiastic teachers who care about students' development as competent learners. The purpose of the Network is to support and encourage the promotion and implementation of learning to learn within the University. The Network is co-ordinated by the EDC.

  • To develop a culture of nurturing good learners by facilitating communication and support among teachers so as to benefit students.

Resources and support offered by the Network | top |

The Learning-to-Learn Network provides resources and support in the promotion and implementation of learning to learn in the University. It uses the Learning-to-Learn website as its virtual base and a major channel of communication via which the most up-to-date materials and the latest development in learning to learn are disseminated.

The Learning-to-Learn Network hosts a range of materials for teachers and students. These include:

  • Student handbooks which address students' motivational, cognitive and interpersonal difficulties in learning
  • Learning-to-Learn tools that can be easily applied in any academic activities
  • Teacher guides with detailed explanation about and suggestions on using the handbooks and tools
  • A video for improving group project work
  • Websites for teachers and students making all resources easily accessible

The Learning-to-Learn Network offers support to help you develop your students to become good learners via consultations, certificate short courses, advice on implementation and evaluation of learning-to-learn resources, organised sharing of ideas among teachers, etc.

Research and publications | top |

The UGC-funded "Learning-to-Learn" Project has carried out and published classroom research on learning-to-learn. The Network will continue to support colleagues interested in carrying out classroom research on the area and seek opportunities to publish such research.
