Two-factor authentication for using PolyU O365 apps on MS Cloud wherever not in HK SAR

To align with security requirements for access PolyU O365 applications (e.g. Outlook email, OneDrive for Business and etc.) hosted on Microsoft Cloud from locations outside HK SAR, two-factor authentication will be required effective from 4 March 2022.

Other than login with valid PolyU NetID and NetPassword, staff members will need a one-time access code generated by the ‘Microsoft Authenticator’ app (PolyU MFA service) installed on staff mobile phone previously enrolled.

Staff who are currently using ‘Global Protect’ VPN service to access campus resources should have already downloaded the ‘Microsoft Authenticator’ app to your registered mobile phone. No further action is required.

For those who have not used ‘Global Protect’ VPN service before, please refer to the PolyU MFA Service – User Guide to complete the installation of ‘Microsoft Authenticator’ app and enroll your mobile phone in case you plan to use PolyU O365 application hosted on Microsoft Cloud from locations outside HK SAR.
