衞炳江教授、工程師

衞炳江教授、工程師現任香港理工大學常務及學務副校長。衞教授1981年在香港大學以一級榮譽成績取得物理學理學士(榮譽)學位,其後遠赴美國,修讀物理學研究生課程,並於1988年在馬里蘭大學取得博士學位。他的研究論文是關於光纖非線性光訊號的傳輸。其後,他在維珍尼亞州麥克利恩區的科學應用國際公司擔任研究科學家,參與繩系衛星系統(Tethered Satellite Systems, TSS)任務,該任務是美國與意大利合作的太空穿梭機項目,研究一個以二十公里長的電纜拴在太空穿梭機上的衛星的發射和接收。該任務分為TSS-1及TSS-1R兩項。TSS-1於1992年8月隨亞特蘭蒂斯號太空穿梭機升空;TSS-1R則於1996年2月由哥倫比亞號太空穿梭機發射。衞教授負責研究有關繩系衛星與周圍空間等離子體的電磁相互作用。

1990年,衞教授離開科學應用國際公司,返回馬里蘭大學,在電機工程學系擔任研究助理,繼續其光纖通訊研究,並集中在跨洋傳輸方面的研究。衞教授研究非線性光纖對光傳播的影響,就偏振模色散和非線性相互作用的研究,以及高速光纖通訊系統的發展,作出重要的貢獻。他還研究光電設備,如鐳射和光子開關。

1996年,衞教授返回香港,加入香港理工大學電子工程學系,擔任助理教授。他與工程學院的其他光電子教授一起成立光電研究中心,配備先進設施及基礎設施,有助光纖通訊、光纖傳感器及氮化鎵技術的研究。該中心設有特種光纖儀器,能夠拉出新型光子晶體光纖,用於尖端光纖技術研究。衞教授更在香港展開未來光網絡技術的研究,包括全光分組交換技術。他設計了以全光分組處理資料傳送的光通訊技術。衞教授發明的光分組交換及其他技術,成功取得七項美國專利。2009年,衞教授獲美國光學學會選為院士,藉以表揚他對光通訊和光網絡研究的貢獻,並分別於2012年1月及2012年12月當選為國際電氣與電子工程師學會會士及香港工程科學院院士。此外,衞教授於2012年2月獲國家科學技術部批核,入選《國家科技計劃專家庫》。

衞教授在技術領域上作出重要貢獻。他於國際學術期刊發表的論文超過一百八十篇,並協助籌辦多個光電子和光通訊的國際研討會,如鐳射和電光學研討會,以及光纖通訊研討會。此外,衞教授現擔任IEEE Journal of Lightwave Technology的副編輯。

2002年,衞教授擔任理大電子及資訊工程學系教授兼系主任。2005年,晉升為光通訊學講座教授兼工程學院院長,2008 年出任協理副校長,並於 2010年出任副校長(科研發展)。。

Prof. WT Wong obtained his BSc and MPhil from the University of Hong Kong (HK) and earned his PhD from the University of Cambridge (UK). He joined the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2009 and was appointed Dean of Faculty of Applied Science and Textiles in 2015. Prof. Wong’s research interests cover chemical sensing, lanthanide chemistry, nanomaterials and bio-imaging. He has published more than 450 research papers. His research accomplishment led him to a ScD from the University of Cambridge in 2000, a Croucher Senior Research Fellowship in 2002, and an Outstanding Achievement Award in Scientific Research for Institution of Higher Education of China in 2012. Prof. Wong actively contributes to the food industry as Director of PolyU FSTRC and advisory committee member for public bodies and the government, including Panel on Promoting Testing and Certification Services in Food Trade, HK Council for Testing and Certification (HKSAR), and Advisory Council on Food and Environmental Hygiene (HKSAR).

劉博士在生物科技產品的開發、商品化及創業上,擁有超過20年經驗。劉博士曾於一家跨國食品公司任職,其後參與創立和營運多家生物科技公司,並領導亞洲第一個獲得定量轉基因生物分析ISO17025認證的實驗室及開發獲日本農林水產省批准的禽流感病毒分子檢測產品。劉博士在業界和政府機構擔任公職,包括香港政府抗菌素耐藥性專家委員會,中小型企業委員會,企業支援計劃,全國生物計量技術委員會,聯合國項目事務署食品安全項目高級顧問,中國北京大學傳染病中心顧問,以及吉林省農業科學研究院客座研究員等。劉博士於刺針、新英倫醫學雜誌等期刊發表超過40篇論文;為60多項專利的共同發明人和5個中國國家標準的共同起草人;亦先後獲頒北京市科學技術獎和中華醫學獎。 ​​​​​​​

盧毓琳教授

盧毓琳教授從事與生物科技相關的研究。盧教授一直擔任各類科研機構的重要職務,如香港生物科技協會榮譽主席、香港食品安全協會名譽會長、以及中國預防疾控中心(CDC)的顧問等。自2014年起獲委任為香港特別行政區食物及衛生局食物及環境衛生諮詢委員會主席,亦是香港石藥集團(HKG:1093)及香港綠葉製藥集團(HKG:2186)的獨立董事。盧教授亦是香港中文大學客席教授,並獲香港科技大學頒授榮譽院士。盧教授致力促進香港和中國的科技進步,令其獲得“香港生物科技之父”的榮譽。​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Mr. Yves Rey is a French citizen and a graduate of ENSAIA in Nancy, France. He has more than 42 years’ experience in world’s leading food, beverage and packaging companies in 10 different countries. He started his career in 1975 with Heineken in production and then joined Schweppes in 1982, first as Plant Manager and then as Operations Director. In 1991, he was appointed Technical Director of Coca-Cola. In 1994, he was appointed General Manager for Europe of McCain Sunnyland, before moving on in 1999 to become General Manager South Europe of Wipak Flexible Packaging. Yves joined Groupe Danone in 2003. He held the position of Corporate Quality General Manager and then since January 2015 he holds the position of senior advisor to DANONE’s board. Yves has been a longstanding member of the GFSI Board - from 2006 to 2011, as Vice-chair from 2008 to 2011 and as Chair from 2012 to 2014. Yves was on the board of Directors for SSAFE and is working closely with CFDA, AQSIQ and CNCA on the global harmonization of food safety requirements, with USDA and USFDA regarding food safety standards, with DG-Sanco in Europe on Food Fraud and with CODEX, FAO and OIE on harmonized food safety standards.

Professor Jørgen Schlundt

Prof. Jørgen Schlundt (JS) has a Veterinary Degree (DVM) as well as a Ph.D. in microbiology from Copenhagen University, Denmark. He has worked nationally and internationally on food science and food safety issues from 1983 to 1999, with a focus on microbiological risk assessment and the use of biotechnology in food. In 1999 – 2010 JS was Director of the Department of Food Safety and Zoonoses at the World Health Organization, Geneva, heading the WHO Food Standards Programme, hosting the Codex Alimentarius Commission. In 2011-2014 he was Director National Food Institute in Denmark, and has participated in the international development of food safety Risk analysis principles and has overseen the creation of the International Food Safety Authorities Network (INFOSAN) and the initiation of the estimation of the global burden of foodborne diseases. At NTU, JS continues his international activities, including as Chair of the Steering Committee of the Global Microbial Identifier, a new DNA-sequence-based system that will revolutionize microbiology.

Prior to joining The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Prof. John Tam had worked as Technical Officer of the Initiative for Vaccine Research at the World Health Organization (WHO), Geneva, and was responsible for the global research and development of seasonal and pandemic influenza vaccines as well as the focal point for influenza policy development under SAGE. He also served as Scientist at the Global Influenza Programme of WHO, Geneva and was responsible for the development and implementation of the WHO Public Health Research Agenda for Influenza. Prof. Tam also worked in a leading role in the pharmaceutical industry on vaccine research and development. Prior to these, he was Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong for 15 years. Prof. Tam received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the University of Toronto majoring in Virology, Microbiology and Biochemistry, and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Hong Kong on Virology. Prof. Tam has been active in the field of medical virology and his interest included influenza and other viral respiratory tract infections, viral diarrhoeal diseases, viral hepatitis and virus-associated cancers. He had published over 180 peer-reviewed articles relating to his fields of interest.
