Food Safety Forum 2018

Organized by GS1 Hong Kong, the annual Food Safety Forum 2018 attracted around 350 attendees on 30 August. With the theme of “Food Safety in New Era - A decade for digital experience & innovation in Food Safety Enhancement” this year, the annual forum aimed to bring together the collective wisdom of industry experts and practitioners to improve food traceability practices as well as to drive effective adoption of international standards and technology for food management systems, thus building consumer trust and enhancing brand image.


PolyU’s Food Safety Consortium (FSC) was a supporting organization of Forum, and co-organized the Pioneers Panel Discussion on “A New Era of Food Traceability & Transparency”. Dr. Terence Lau, Director of Innovation and Technology Development and Convener of FSC, moderated the discussion while invited panelists included Mr. Andy Heung, Deputy Managing Director & Head of Global Supply Chain Division,Yamato Logistics (HK) Ltd.; Ms. Anna Lin, Chief Executive, GS1 Hong Kong; Ms. Margaret Lau, General Manager, DCH Food Mart; Ms. May Chung, Business Executive Officer, Wyeth Nutrition Hong Kong.
