The Food Safety Consortium (FSC) was launched by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) in 2015 to address unmet food safety needs through innovation and visualize PolyU’s determination and commitment in advancing global food safety. FSC comprises stakeholders from the academia, industry and other organizations to tackle food safety challenges with cutting-edge and applied technologies, together with timely and in-depth communications on food safety related matters. We are supported by PolyU’s Research and Innovation Office (RIO), Food Safety and Technology Research Centre (FSTRC), and other academic and research units. We are also the Hong Kong Affiliate of the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP), a prestigious industry association with over 100 years of history in protecting global food supply.
As of 2020, FSC is also the first and only non-governmental organization (NGO) from Hong Kong and Mainland China to be recognized as an Observer at FAO/WHO Codex Alimentarius Commission.
