上海東海大橋 - 中國首座外海跨海大橋，亦是目前世界上最長的中間無島嶼依托的跨海大橋，全長32.5公里，與上海公路連接洋山港。

Shanghai Donghai Bridge – The first offshore cross-sea bridge in China. It is also the longest cross-sea bridge without braced island. Its total length is 32.5 kilometers and connects the highway of Shanghai and the offshore Yangshan Port.

宏偉的東海大橋只是上海"大小洋山港"的配套工程而已，東海大橋陪襯出了洋山港的雄偉，洋山港又陪襯出中國擠身於國際物流的雄心壯志。

The grand Donghai Bridge was the conveyance of Yangshan Port.  The great buildings of Donghai Bridge and Yangshan Port demonstrated the giant ambition of Mainland China to develop its post of logistics in the world.

除了實地考察，課程更安排學員出席學術講座，由上海海事大學的教授講解，內容更包括內地報關、稅務、自由貿易區/保稅區及有關個案分析等。

Apart from visits, students were arranged to attend seminars conducted by the professors of Shanghai Maritime University. The topics included taxation issues, free trade and bonded areas in the Mainland and relevant case studies.

要完成這個單元，學員必須完成個人作業及小組作業，難怪學員都埋頭苦幹的寫下筆記。

Students were required to submit individual assignments and group project to complete the entire subject.  There is no doubt that students worked hard on note-taking.

上海海事大學更為學員安排了豐富的晚宴，為學員及老師洗塵，難怪同學們也開心得鼓掌。

 A dinner was arranged to greet PolyU students and teachers.

同學安排到上海集裝箱碼頭 (Shanghai Container Terminal，簡稱SCT）參觀-佔地總面積83 萬平方米 ， 集裝箱泊位 線總長 2281 米 ， 貨件吞吐量超過 200 萬標準箱 。

Students were arranged to visit Shanghai Container Terminal (SCT) - total area is 83000㎡; container berth length is 2281m in total; and its throughput exceeds 2 million containers.

上海港口的水深淺是阻礙它發展的因素之一。

The shallow depth of the port is one of the problems to its development.

SCT的高級管理人員正為學員講解SCT的運作與及其利弊之處，並分析國內物流業的發展。

The senior management of SCT briefed the operation of SCT and also the development of logistics in the Mainland.

SCT的工作人員很詳細地講解有關中心內的運作及軟件的應用，同學也很用心的聆聽。

SCT staff explained the operation and the applications of the software in the operational Centre. Students listened carefully to these interesting topics. click

同學也積極發問，建立了一個互動的學習環境，有利學員深入了解國內最新物流業的發展與動向。

Students were impressed and they raised a number of questions actively. An interactive learning was established which provided good opportunity for students to be familiar with the latest logistics development in the Mainland. click

下課後，學員更可到附近的景點，如上海外灘及南京路等，暢遊一番。

After class, students could visit some tour locations such as Shanghai Bund and Nanjing Road.
