Professor Eric Tsui

Professor and Director 


Prof Tsui joined Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) in 1989 after years of academic research in automated knowledge acquisition, natural language processing, case-based reasoning and knowledge engineering tools. He has 
designed and delivered numerous public and custom-designed knowledge management and technologies workshops. His research strengths include cloud-based business innovation and knowledge services. He has also consulted for many government departments and private organizations in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Brunei. Professor Tsui is an honorary advisor of KM to the Police College, Hong Kong Police Force. He is a recipient of the KM Leadership Award and KM and Intellectual Capital Excellence Award in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

Professor Benny Cheung

Professor and Associate Director


Prof Cheung has been conducting research into knowledge and technology management (KTM) since 2004. His research in KTM encompasses a broad range of methods and tools built on a basis of Information Processing and Artificial Intelligence technologies for supporting the management of knowledge and technology catered for various industries such as manufacturing, transportation, social service, public utilities, etc. He has also conducted research on knowledge auditing, intellectual capital management (ICM), technology 
roadmapping and assessment for enhancing innovation and learning capability in firms and organizations. Currently, he is the programme leader of the Master of Science in Technology Management in the Department.

Emeritus Professor 

Former Director of KMIRC and Head of State Key Laboratory of Ultra-precision Machining Technology


In 2002, Prof. Lee established the Knowledge Solution Laboratory in the 
PolyU - Microsoft Enterprise Systems Centre, the first of its kind in Hong Kong and has pioneered research and practice of KM in Hong Kong for various industrial sectors which include manufacturing, trading, public utilities, various government departments and health care.He is currently the chief editor of the International Journal of Knowledge and Systems Science, co-Editor of the Journal of Information and KnowledgeManagement Systems, and associate editor of the International Journal of Learning and Intellectual Capital and Learning. His research interest includes manufacturing technology and strategy, knowledge management, organizational learning, intellectual capital-basedmanagement and open service innovation.

Dr. Woo-Yong Pak

Assistant Professor

 

Dr. Woo-Yong Park is an Assistant Professor at Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE).  He received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), specializing in technology and innovation management.  He is investigating “why some firms are dominating and why some other firms are sluggish in the face of radical technological changes ?”  To address the question, his research is currently exploring the relationships between innovation adoption timing and make-buy sourcing strategy choice.  His articles are appearing in Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Management, and Research Policy.  He also has diverse consulting and special lecture experience for companies such as AeKyung Cor., DongHwa Group, DooSan Group, Halla Group, Mando Cor, etc.

Dr. Patrick Fong

Knowledge Management Specialist

 

Dr. Fong is an Associate Head (Partnership) and Associate Professor in the Department of Building & Real Estate of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has worked extensively in the construction industries in the UK and Hong Kong prior to joining the University. Patrick’s research embraces both knowledge management and project management and has published widely in these fields in construction and general management journals. Other than researching knowledge management at team and organizational levels, he recently extends his work to personal knowledge management to construction professionals, knowledge and innovation cities and societal knowledge management. Through his research, he has demonstrated that knowledge is the key resource in today’s knowledge-based economy.

Dr. Carman Lee

Dr LEE Ka Man is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong. She obtained her PhD and B. Eng degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She was awarded Bronze Award of 16th China National Invention Exhibition Award in 2006 and Outstanding Professional Service and Innovation Award, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2006. Dr Lee has authored or co-authored more than 100 journal and conferences papers.  Her current research areas include data mining, computational intelligence, knowledge based system and expert system for logistics and manufacturing. She is the co-editor of International Journal of Engineering Business Management and serves on the editorial advisory board of Industrial Management & Data Systems.
