Brief Biosketch

Ir. H.F. Mak is a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has an MSc degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Hong Kong. He has more than twenty years of industrial experience with global U.S. corporations whose regional headquarters were located in Hong Kong. He was responsible for project and quality management with the Asian vendor operations, in countries which included China, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Japan. He managed teams to implement Total Quality Management programs with significant annual cost reduction, and other benefits. He also managed and developed multiple logistic management programs and oversaw vendor operations management systems for the greater Asia areas.

HOKLAS laboratory - successfully upgraded an in-house laboratory to a HOKLAS Lab. in 2001. HOKLAS is an accreditation scheme operated by Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HKAS)

A PATW Judge at the 2014 Local Competition - on June 14th, 2014. Present around the World (PATW) is the IET’s (Institution of Engineering and Technology, UK) presentation competition for students, recent graduates, apprentices and young professionals aged 18 to 26.
