Application Process

Applicants should complete

with the following documents uploaded on or before the application deadline:

  • a two-page Executive Summary (including any appendix)
  • CVs of all team members
  • a copy of student ID/graduation certificate of each PolyU student/alumni
  • (if applicable) Declaration of “Use of PolyU Knowledge/ Innovations/ Technologies” endorsed by PolyU academic staff

Lean Launchpad Workshop
A mandatory training on business model canvas and market validation. For the sake of learning efficiency, each shortlisted applicant must submit a business model canvas draft in advance. After the workshop, all shortlisted applicants are encouraged to start market validation and the finalists are required to submit their revised canvases and validation records on or before 1 April 2019 (Mon).

Business Clinic
A mandatory one-to-one consultation with Entrepreneur-in-residence. During the consultation, finalists can seek advice from the tutor on their business model canvas and market validation efforts.

Assessment Criteria (Assessment Criteria slightly varies in different stages.)

  • Innovation & Creativity (25 points)
  • Business Model, Commercial and Technical Feasibility (25 points)
  • Applicant's Background / Relevant Strength (25 points)
  • Social / Community Impact (15 points)
  • Milestones for the Funding / Incubation Period (10 points)

TOTAL: 100 points

Remark: Bonus Points will be awarded to applications using PolyU's knowledge, innovations and technologies.
