Tourism Development Boosted with PolyU Tourist Satisfaction and Tourism Service Quality Indices

The SHTM released the 2012 PolyU Tourist Satisfaction Index (PolyU TSI) and Tourism Service Quality Index (PolyU TSQI) on 27 March. The 2012 PolyU TSI hit a record high of 75.07, an increase of 2.46 points from 72.61 in the previous year. As another innovative gauge for service performance, the first-ever PolyU TSQI stood at 75.37 for 2012.

China Tourism and China Hotel-Branding Forum Takes Shape with a Fascinating Line-up

Taking the theme “New Tourism, New Strategies”, the China Tourism and China Hotel-Branding Forum 2013 (CTHF 2013) will be held on 16-18 May at Hotel ICON, Hong Kong.

Executive Masters with a Global Focus

Recruitment for the SHTM’s innovative Executive Masters (EM) in Global Hospitality Leadership is underway, with the programme launch set for September 2013. Geared towards high-level executives with at least 10 years’ experience at the management level, the programme will enhance leadership skills, advance decision-making capabilities, update industry knowledge and provide networking opportunities.

D.HTM Extends its Reach

As part of its commitment to furthering hospitality and tourism education in the Chinese mainland, the SHTM applied to the PRC Ministry of Education for accreditation of its Doctor of Hotel and Tourism Management (D.HTM) programme. That accreditation was granted in September 2012, and the first cohort of students will commence their studies in 2013.
