Polyu

Faculty of Business

Hong Kong is one of the major hubs of the world economy. The city has grown into a global economic powerhouse, focusing on four main drivers, namely financial services, trading and logistics, tourism, and professional services. The Faculty of Business of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is one of Hong Kong’s largest and most comprehensive business schools. We vigorously pursue academic excellence through a global and interdisciplinary approach to education and research.

PolyU’s Faculty of Business disseminates knowledge and insights through its three constituent schools and departments, namely the School of Accounting and Finance, the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies, and the Department of Management and Marketing. Our community consists of 170 academics from around the world, 4,500 students and 49,000 alumni.

We have attained accreditations from AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), and EQUIS (EFMD Quality Improvement System). Our community is dedicated to the pursuit of IDEAS (Innovation-driven Education and Scholarship) with a 3D focus on Discovery, Design, and Delivery. We realize knowledge and technology transfer through high-quality professional programmes, as well as partnerships and close links with industry and the professional community.

To maintain the currency of our academic programmes and specialist consultancy services, Faculty members undertake practical research, both within and across their disciplines, facilitated by the Faculty’s centres for research in belt-and-road studies, branding and marketing, digital transformation, fintech, leadership and innovation, logistics, maritime studies, shipping, and sustainability. Our research has been ranked 64th in the world (The University of Texas at Dallas Top 100 Worldwide Business School Rankings based on Research Contributions 2015-2019).

The Faculty offers a comprehensive portfolio of programmes. Apart from the BBA, MBA, DBA, DFinTech and specialized master’s degrees, there are also research programmes leading to MPhil and PhD awards.
