Research Student Attachment Programme

PolyU invites applications from in-coming visiting full-time PhD research students in any discipline. We have established a global network with more than 280 overseas universities/institutions spanning 39 countries and regions. We have about 445 agreements, ranging from student exchange arrangement to joint research collaboration.

 

Call for applications
Two calls for applications are issued each year: one in March/April and the other in September/October.

 

Selection criteria

  • PhD students with substantial international exposure and the potential to contribute to the internationalization of the University
  • Good academic results and publication records
  • Programme relevance
  • Recommendation of supervisor(s) at home institution
  • Track records of both home and host (PolyU) supervisors

 

Selection Process

Applications will be carefully assessed by a selection committee.

 

Tuition fees

In-coming visiting PhD students will not be required to pay tuition fees at PolyU.  However, they will have to continue to pay tuition fees, if applicable, to their home institutions.

Attached research students will be provided with a financial support of HK$8,960/Month for a maximum of six months.
