About the Conference

The Graduate School (GS) is launching the first PolyU Research Student Conference (PRSC 2023) on 8 - 9 May 2023. The conference will be held in person at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU).

Aiming at promoting innovative and high-quality research, the PolyU Research Student Conference (PRSC) is the flagship research student conference, providing Research Postgraduate (RPg) students and the students of College of Undergraduate Researchers and Innovators (CURI) in PolyU with the opportunity to present their research work and findings. PRSC also provides an excellent opportunity for students from different disciplines to network with peers, and establishes a collaborative and active research community at PolyU.

The conference programme will include keynote speech and panel discussion with prominent scholars, student presentation sessions and social activities. Awards with a cash prize of up to HK$20,000 will be presented to the best student papers.

Call for Papers

PRSC has the theme of “Research with Impact”. The organising committee now invites submissions of papers describing original research.  Submissions on all topics are welcome from RPg students of all disciplines at all stages of study and CURI students.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions describing both completed research and work-in-progress are welcome. For both categories, abstracts are invited first. After review, authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit a paper of 4 - 6 pages and 2 pages respectively. Abstracts should not exceed 200 words.

  1. Completed Research

Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit a paper of 4 - 6 pages (describing the problem, methodology and results, including tables, figures and references) after the acceptance of the abstract. The paper will be published in the conference booklet and proceedings.

  2. Work-in-Progress

Promising results, early prototypes, inspiring problems and ideas, puzzling research data, and conceptual analyses of early-stage and high-potential work that are all grounded in solid but unfinished, are welcome.

Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit a 2-page paper (describing the problem, methodology and future direction, including tables, figures and references) after the acceptance of the abstract. The paper will be published in the conference booklet and proceedings.
