Eyes on PolyU

PolyU has pledged to support Energy Saving Charter on Indoor Temperature 2015

PolyU has pledged to support the Energy Saving Charter on Indoor Temperature 2015 advocated by the HKSAR Government with an aim of reducing electricity consumption for air-conditioning.

In Hong Kong, buildings account for about 90% of our electricity consumption, representing over 60% of greenhouse gas emissions while air-conditioning contributes to most of the energy consumption.

In response to this pledge, offices on PolyU campuses will strive to maintain an average indoor temperature between 24-26°C during the months of June to September 2015 to support energy conservation and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
