Plans to revitalize Tseung Kwan O Landfill
The Environmental Protection Department and the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs) signed a funding agreement to revitalise the Tseung Kwan O Landfill. It is the first funding agreement under the Restored Landfill Revitalisation Funding Scheme and will provide funding for the TWGHs to carry out pre-construction activities, including site investigation and detailed design to revitalize the Tseung Kwan O Stage 1 Landfill.
The TWGHs has proposed to revitalise the landfill into a campsite and green education ground, with facilities such as camping grounds, a plant-maze adventure zone and an outdoor recreational platform.
