The University announced in April 2018 its target to reduce paper consumption by an overall 10% in financial year 2017/18, focusing on office-use printing paper. Faculties, Schools, Departments, and Administrative and Supporting Offices were keen to embrace this challenge with commitment and innovative practices. Through conducting a thorough review of their paper consumption patterns and identifying paper reduction opportunities, all these offices and unit on campus contributed their part and helped the University to achieve the target. They introduced various paper reduction initiatives such as increasing the use of technologies and electronic devices to replace paper printing. The University was delighted to announce that this paper reduction target was met, and it could not have been if without the support from all staff and students. It will increase efforts to continue driving the paperless and zero waste culture on campus.
