Why did you choose PolyU?

During the PolyU application process, I had a number of very agreeable and supportive conversations with members of my future department and the admissions staff, which made me feel very welcome. Furthermore, I was offered the Full Entry Scholarship. These pleasant experiences convinced me that the community at PolyU was exactly the environment I was looking for – and I am very happy to be a part of it today.

How do you find the programme / academics here?

I absolutely love the English Department at PolyU – from the admin staff to our professors, to our programme head, everyone is extremely kind and dedicated to providing us with a great learning experience. I have felt welcome since my first day. When I was going through some difficult times during the pandemic, all my professors were very understanding and helped me to catch up with the work I had missed. I also had much support from my department and the Careers and Placement Section during my Work-Integrated Education (WIE) application. Overall, I feel that they will always give me the help I ask for.

What is the best part of being an international student at PolyU so far?

For me, the best part of being an international student is meeting and interacting with people from all over the world. I have learned so much from my friends about Kazakhstan, France, Rwanda, Vietnam, Mongolia, Taiwan, and many other countries. Learning about these countries' cultural traditions and heritage has given me a deeper appreciation for and connection with our connected world.
