My group is interested in: (1) identification, characterisation, niche interaction and therapeutic targeting of liver tumour-initiating cells (T-ICs)/cancer stem cells (CSCs) (2) investigating the molecular mechanisms of cancer metastasis (3) understanding the molecular aspects of cancer drug resistance, including molecularly targeted drugs and immune therapy (4) pivotal role of gut microbiota in cancer development, in the hope to translate our basic research into better survival and improved quality of life of cancer patients We are using sophisticated cell culture model system, omics approach and patient-derived xenograft as our research platform.
