He focuses on the structural, electronic and photophysical properties (e.g., charge carrier diffusion, hot carrier cooling, multiple exciton generation, and self-trapped excitons) of advanced material systems (e.g., inorganic/hybrid perovskites, topological insulators, and TMDs) with different dimensionality and functions. He is also interested in the machine learning-assisted DFT for the discovery of new materials for light-emitting, photovoltaic, catalytic and spintronic applications. Awards and Achievements • World’s Top 2% most-cited scientists by Stanford University, 2022 • Review Excellence Award, Chemistry of Materials, 2017 • Young Scientist Award, EMRS Spring Meeting, 2014
