PolyU Researchers Win Health Promotion and COVID-19 Awards at Health Research Symposium 2021

25 Nov 2021

The biennial Health Research Symposium organised by Hong Kong’s Food and Health Bureau was recently held in hybrid mode on 23 November 2021 with the theme of “Implementing Evidence-Based Research in the Era of COVID-19 and Other Global Health Challenges”. The symposium, which attracted more than 800 participants, also commemorated the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Bureau’s Health and Medical Research Fund (HMRF).

To recognise the excellent efforts of researchers in their HMRF-funded COVID-19 projects and to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the HMRF, various awards were presented at the symposium. Dr Gilman Siu Kit-hang, Associate Professor at PolyU’s Department of Health Technology and Informatics, was among the five winners of the Outstanding Project Team on COVID-19 Research Awards. In addition, Prof. Angela Leung Yee-man of PolyU’s School of Nursing was one of only two recipients of the Excellent Health Promotion Project Awards.
