In memory of Dr William Henry Peter Lewis, founding Dean of FHSS

It is FHSS’s deep regret to learn of the recent passing of Dr William Henry Peter Lewis, founding Dean of Faculty of Health and Social Sciences (FHSS), formally Institute of Medical and Health Care (IMHC). Dr Lewis was the first leader of IMHC and later FHSS from 1977 to 1995. During his tenure, Dr Lewis introduced the part-time day release programme (PTDR) and evening classes to the Institute to offer a more flexible mode of learning and to meet the needs of the community at that time. Dr Lewis made significant contributions to establishing and building the Faculty with his hands-on approach and developmental vision. A lasting legacy has been left by Dr Lewis on FHSS as a result of his contributions. We offer our deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
