BEng (Hons) in Aviation Engineering eligible to HKIE Scheme A

We are pleased to inform that the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) recently has updated the Scheme "A" eligibility of BEng (Hons) in Aviation Engineering. For further details, please visit HKIE's website: https://www.hkie.org.hk/en/. (Under Scheme A Training)

Launching of Taught Postgraduate MSc Programme in Aviation Engineering in 2022-23

While the demand for aviation professionals was growing drastically in Asia, mainland China and Hong Kong, the aviation industry was hurt badly by the pandemic. Nevertheless, AAE is preparing for the resurgence of the aviation industry after the world resumes its normal activities, to be expected in 1 to 2 years. AAE's first taught-postgraduate MSc programme provides an opportunity for those who have great enthusiasm in aviation and aeronautical technology and are interested in developing their careers in the industry. Benefiting from our strong research capacity and commitment to quality teaching, the graduates are expected to be fully prepared to take up leadership roles in the aeronautical engineering and aviation operations and management, which will provide an immeasurable contribution to the technology and economic development in Hong Kong.

The programme covers the knowledge of both aviation and aeronautical engineering and has received support from the Government of Hong Kong and the industry. The programme also offers the maximum degree of flexibility to students while ensuring reasonable cost-effectiveness in its running. Despite of the discipline-specific subjects, they have the option to select from a wide range of subjects offered under the Postgraduate Scheme in Engineering and from other disciplines such as accounting, computing, construction and environment, and logistics. Aviation and aeronautical professionals/experts will also be invited to give lectures to keep students abreast of the latest technological advances and industrial development.

It is expected that not only our graduates will contribute to the local aviation industry but will also support the huge demands in both aviation and aeronautical engineering industries overseas and in mainland China, particularly the Greater Bay Area.
