Prof. Chan and his team winning the Grand Award
PolyU Distinguished Knowledge Transfer Awards 2017

On 5 June 2017, a number of academics from the Faculty of Construction and Environment (FCE) were honoured with the PolyU Distinguished Knowledge Transfer Awards, which pay tribute to staff members of the University who have demonstrated excellence in transferring PolyUˇ¦s expertise that have created significance and high impact.

Research Achievements/ Activities

  RGC Visit

On 15 June 2017, the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC) visited PolyU and one of the sub-groups of its Engineering Panel visited the Faculty of Construction and Environment (FCE) to familiarize the group members with the overall research activities, research strategies and major achievements of PolyU.


  Technology Development Forum and Joint Laboratory

Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), remote sensing (RS) and geographic information sciences (GIS), collectively called ˇ§3Sˇ¨, are three key representative technologies widely used in the geomatics field.


  LSGI Scholar Appointed Associate Editor of International Journal

Dr Bo Wu, Associate Professor of the Department of Land Surveying & Geo-Informatics (LSGI) has been appointed associate editor of Photogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing (PE&RS) from May 2017.

Teaching and Learning Achievements

  LSGI Scholar Wins UGC Funding for Teaching & Learning

Dr Charles Wong of the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics (LSGI) has won $12,321,533 for his proposal to augment physical learning spaces with location-based services using iBeacon technology for engaging learning experiences.

 

  Teaching Development/ Language Enhancement Grants for FCE Colleagues

The Learning and Teaching Committee (LTC) of PolyU recently approved funding for the following teaching development and language enhancement projects for the 2016-19 triennium.

FCE DISTINGUISHED LECTURE AND DISTINGUISHED CHAIR PROFESSOR INAUGURAL LECTURE SERIES

In celebration of the 80th Anniversary of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), the Faculty of Construction and Environment (FCE) has launched the FCE Distinguished Lecture and Distinguished Chair Professor Inaugural Lecture Series. A total of 10 lectures will be delivered in 2017 by distinguished scholars from different parts of the world and newly appointed Distinguished Chair Professors of PolyU.
