Purity determines altitude. Only innovation ensures survival.

Mr Tan is the founder and CEO of Huaxia Gallium Carbon Technology (Shenzhen) Company Limited, and Huaxia Semiconductor (Shenzhen) Company Limited, two high-tech enterprises specialising in manufacturing advanced semiconductor materials and pioneering carbon dioxide reduction technologies.

Gallium is a strategic metal essential for advanced semiconductor technology. To date, Huaxia Semiconductor remains the world’s only enterprise to have built a gallium-centred chain for third-generation semiconductor materials, starting from raw source material. This “Huaxia gallium chain” spans from high-purity and ultra-high-purity gallium through to gallium nitride, gallium oxide, gallium antimonide, liquid gallium-based alloys, and multi-component gallium-based alloys. Leveraging its proprietary, independently controlled technologies, Huaxia has contributed to China's strategic positioning in the field of rare and dispersed metals.

Huaxia has received numerous accolades for its innovations. In 2025, the company was invited to the 7th Shenzhen Entrepreneurs' Day commendation ceremony organised by Nanshan District and Shenzhen Municipality.

Under Mr Tan's leadership, both Huaxia Semiconductor and Huaxia Gallium Carbon Technology hold multiple patents for technological innovations, including gallium-based metal thermal reduction devices and carbon dioxide reduction methods.

Beyond his entrepreneurial work, Mr Tan serves as an enterprise mentor for several universities and is a registered technology expert in Shenzhen. He is a member of the Expert Committee of the Shenzhen Semiconductor Industry Association and a director of the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce. He actively promotes innovation and collaboration, thus strengthening China’s semiconductor industry as a self-reliant and resilient sector. He also engages regularly with the PolyU community, participating in university and alumni activities such as the “INSPIRE” Mentorship Programme, and supporting student development by hosting PolyU interns.
