CAD, 114(2019):13-27 Dr YICK Kit Lun Associate Professor Research Overview Dr Yick has carried out a number of research projects to enhance the design, fit, comfort and fabrication of patient clothing, footwear and bras. The projects involve three-dimensional body scanning, body motion capturing, evaluation of fabric thermal properties, numerical simulation of garment pressure and biomechanical design of garments and/or footwear. Recently, she focuses on the design and development of geriatric footwear with the aim of improving the plantar pressure and body balance of elderly people for better foot protection and comfort. She is also involving in research projects on bra design for optimal bra fit, finite element models to predict pressure comfort and the shaping effect of bras, designing age- friendly bras, etc. A soft breast manikin with a dynamic system is being developed to evaluate dynamic breast motion and pressure sensation for bra design optimization. • Wan FKW, Yick KL , Yu W.
