Patient Empowerment of Migrant Domestic Workers in Hong Kong

Preliminary Abstract:
The main purpose of study is to investigate how migrant-domestic-worker patients in Hong Kong empower themselves to gain a sense of control over their health and initiate behavior change. This study also examines how healthcare providers empower migrant domestic workers to express their concerns and make informed decisions during medical consultations. It is expected that migrant domestic workers’ empowering process can be facilitated by patient (migrant domestic worker) level and healthcare provider level.
