Workplace Resilience and Assertion Workshop.

This workshop is based on two premises: firstly, that emotional consequences do not stem directly from adversity but from your beliefs about the adversity; and secondly, that social connections are a primary need of every individual. To build resilience we therefore need to look at how we think about ourselves and how we interact with others in the workplace. One part of building resilience is developing thinking skills to help you recognise your personal strengths and reframe adverse experiences. Drawing on the seminal work of Martin Seligman, in this workshop we will explore concepts of emotional and social fitness and help you identify your signature strengths. Using David Rock’s SCARF Model we will also examine how we naturally seek to minimize personal threats and maximize rewards in any social or workplace interactions. In this workshop we will explore concepts of emotional and social fitness and help you identify your signature strength. Recognising the impact of behavioural drivers, we will provide practical tips for building resilience and mental toughness including how to be appropriately assertive and responsive in the workplace.
