Biography

Dr Mia Münster has over 20 years of professional experience as a designer and creative brand manager in the field of retail and hospitality design, and in that capacity has developed interior concepts for several international brands.
Mia holds two master's degrees: one from the Aarhus School of Architecture, and one in design from the Royal Danish Academy. Her PhD, completed in 2018, is from Copenhagen Business School.
In her research, Mia is particularly interested in understanding consumer perception of designed spaces, and in the optimization of design processes. Mia has published research on interior design processes; on the use of atmospherics in store and café design; and on the role of designers in the transition to a circular economy.

Currently, she is conducting cross-cultural studies on the design and culture in coffee shops from the perspective of users, businesses, designers, neighbourhoods, societies, and environment.
