Biography

Tulio Maximo is an Assistant Professor at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University’ School of Design. Tulio professional aim is to bridge people, institutions and knowledge to improve society collaboratively. His research interests surround intergenerational and inclusive design, mobility devices, sitting ergonomics, design-led social entrepreneurship, and co-designing healthcare and assistive technology services. Tulio’s previous works included design interventions on Brazilian healthcare services, the design of awarded inclusive products, assistive technologies and social enterprises for the Instituto Noisinho da Silva, and vehicle design for COMAU group and for Shell Eco-marathon. 

Education and Academic Qualifications

  • PhD in Assistive Technology Service, Loughborough University, UK.
  • MSc in Human Factors for Inclusive Design, Loughborough University, UK.
  • BA in Product Design, Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais, Brazil.
