Workshop Activities and Attendance Policy

Plenary Sessions:

Two one-hour plenary sessions featuring esteemed keynote speakers, Prof. Andrew Burton-Jones and Prof. Sarker Suprateek will take place on July 6th at 9:30 and July 7th at 8:45, respectively. During these sessions, the speakers will impart valuable ideas and strategies to all participants attending the workshop. It's important to note that both plenary sessions are open to all registered attendees. To ensure inclusivity, parallel online Zoom sessions will be organized, allowing unregistered participants to remotely join the plenary sessions.

Paper Development Sessions:

Parallel paper development sessions will be organized for attending authors of accepted papers to present their research work to guest advisors and receive valuable feedback. To create a supportive and secure environment for authors presenting their work-in-progress, these paper development sessions are exclusively open to invited guests, registered authors of accepted papers, and registered participants affiliated with the participating universities: CUHK, HKU, and PolyU. We prioritize controlling access to the paper development sessions to ensure that attending authors feel confident that their intellectual properties are respected and safeguarded throughout the process. We aim to foster a conducive environment for fruitful discussions and constructive feedback.

Speedy Mentoring Sessions:

A mentoring session will be organized exclusively to junior faculty members and senior doctoral students affiliated with all participating universities: CUHK, HKU, and PolyU. Guest advisors will be seated across three tables whereas junior faculty members and senior doctoral students will be split into three groups and rotate from table to table with a 20-minute interval. We recommend each participating faculty member and doctoral student to prepare at least one question in advance.
