Description

Online materials (18 cases) have been developed and released to students for self-learning.

Intended educational value 

This online material will promote students' understanding of ocular therapeutics through independent study.

Example of application

For each case, feedback / answers were emailed to students usually within two days after their submission, most students submitted their revised answers.

Evaluation/Comments

Feedback was obtained from the students via a questionnaire using a 5-point scale. The following are the mean scores and SDs (in brackets) for the items.

• The content was relevant to my course of study: 4.4 (0.6)
• The diversity of cases was appropriate: 4.0 (0.7)
• The content was of appropriate difficulty: 3.6 (0.5)
• There was a timely response to the answers that I submitted: 4.1 (1.1)
• I like going through these cases via web-based rather than face-to-face lessons: 3.1 (0.8)
