In August 2013 and 2014, staff briefing on academic advising has been organized to year tutors. Their roles and responsibilities under the academic advising mechanism , the academic advising process, student record system, etc. were introduced. Academic Advising receptions have been organised to Year 1 students (see posters). It is a gathering for students to meet with senior year students and alumni that they are able to gain a practical insight of the fashion indust ry and map out their ind ividual future direction and learning path . OGUR Academic Counsellor, Year Tutors, Academic Advisors, etc. were also invited to join the gathering.

Consider ing the large number of senior year intakes, academic advising workshops were offered in Aug-Nov 2014. Senior year stude nts from each of the 6 specialisms are nominated as ITC Student Ambassadors to act as the ITC role models to create a supportive and student-friendly atmosphere within the ITC. Apart from meeting SY students in semester 1 and reporting their needs, they are also required to promote ITC programmes and help give guidance to fellow students on programme and subject select ion.
