This simulator supports the learning of transportation and routing topics in relevant undergraduate programmes in ISE.
 

Intended educational value

By carrying out the activities on transportation and routing topics using this logistics educational simulator, students will gradually develop a sense of critical thinking, thus gaining the knowledge needed to address issues in controlling the planning and delivery of goods.  

Example of application

The modified simulator has also undergone a pilot test in a master's degree programme (MSc in Industrial Logistics Systems) and the initial feedback is encouraging because of its ability to mimic the micro-world of business activities. 

Evaluation/Comments

• The simulator seems to have encouraged students to achieve a higher level of deep learning. 
• More than 80% of the students interviewed agreed that their motivation to learn more about transportation and routing topics had increased as a result of using this simulator. 
• The Project Team has observed that students' interest in learning about issues in the logistics industry has increased as a result of this project.
