Description

This item aimed at disciplinary areas which would benefit from using the English Phraseology Software Program, ConcGramã, to search for discipline-specific English phraseological patterns. Examples of these disciplines are engineering, accounting and finance, business, law, chemistry, management, construction and land use, health and social sciences.
 

Intended educational value 

With the use of the English Phraseology Software Program, ConcGramã, to search for the phraseological patterns of any corpus text in any disciplinary areas (e.g. accounting and finance, land surveying, nursing, etc.), students’ critical awareness of the nature and role of phraseology in the language specific to the disciplinary area can be enhanced; and students’ critical and creative thinking can be enhanced through the understanding, analysis, comparison and application of phraseology that is specific to specific text types (e.g. company annual reports, business proposals, interviews, etc.) within the discipline.
