Objectives:

This project aims to pilot the Freshman Seminar subject "Humanities - Wehre Language, Culture and Science Converge" which aims to achieve the following objectives:

• introduce to students the nature and characteristics of language and cultural studies, its contribution to the society and possible career paths;
• cultivate students' creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving ability through research, data collection and verification;
• expose students to the basic concept and understanding of entrepreneurship;
• develop students' global outlook;
• engage students in desirable forms of learning at university that emphasises self-regulation, autonomous learning and deep understanding;
• intrdouce students to research strengths and current intellectual interest of the academic staff members with the Faculty of Humanities; and
• provide students with an opportunity to meet the faculty members in a small class environment.
