Objectives:
- To identify the existing systems within PolyU and SHTM and analyze their usefulness, features, and usability – and to identify the gaps and requirements in order to add value by developing and providing a more user-friendly, accessible and effective resource.
- To redesign or develop an electronic resource to enable the student learning experience to be clearly enhanced and enriched through their WIE placement by providing the means for more reflection, learning and communication to take place.
- To provide a more structured and user-friendly means of assessment and evaluation to be used by students, supervisors and mentors and facilitate feedback inputs and reviews from students, industry partners, and SHTM mentors.
- Especially, this project will help SHTM to achieve PolyU Strategic Objective 1.5 by “providing every participating student with a WIE transcript documenting activities engaged in, and methods and results of outcome assessment”.
- To use the resource to help ensure that SHTM students achieve their WIE learning outcomes in a more specific systematic and personalized way.
- To provide a community of practice, with the opportunity for students to share their WIE experiences, and at the same time, provide learning opportunities to other students.
