Objectives:
This project aims to offer and promote an array of learning enrichment activities for ITC first-year students to familiarize with the workshops, studios, facilities and academic culture at ITC, as well as the support services of the University and therefore, encourage their engagement with ITC and the University.
Remarks:
Regarding the diversified learning backgrounds of school leavers under the NSS curriculum and the flexible approach to admission in the new 4-year curriculum, academic advising and learning support responding to the particular needs of the first-year students must be strengthened to help prepare them for a smooth transition to the tertiary education. The guidebook and learning package did not only help students familiarize with the support services and facilities available at the University but also provided a brief and accurate prospectus of different programmes under the broad discipline of Fashion and Textiles, as well as the importance and relevance of fundamental knowledge in textile technology for different career paths in this industry.
