(TDG 2005/09)

Other Members: Dr. Janice C. McKay [HTI]
Objectives:
- To compile case studies, some with a generic focus and others addressing specific professional issues
- To use the work of past students, specifically reflective assignments, as a resource for establishing cases that are authentic within the professional workplace.
- To establish a resource that provides cases that fall within individual professional domains as well as covering the breadth of legal and ethical issues dealt with the subject..
Remarks:
It has always been intended that the current project would act as a pilot for a larger study in the future. This intention has now been realized with the successful acquisition of an extra HK$457,520 funding for a project entitled: "Establishment of an interactive, faculty-wide website to facilitate and enhance students' awareness and application of legal and ethical issues in healthcare." (eLDSS0632). This now means that the original learning outcomes - to support students' learning and critical evaluation through the use of ethical and legal cases - can be explored further and in greater depth in the new study.
