We encourage students to grasp every opportunity to engage in the broad range of programs and activities for their holistic development.  Students can find out programs available for enrolment by specifying relevant searching criteria “SPECIAL domains” through the SPECIAL Program Search Engine. Our programs are categorized under the seven SPECIAL Domains focusing on attributes such as (i) global outlook (ii) interest in local and international affairs (iii) problem-solving (iv) critical and creative thinking (v) life-long learning (vi) ethical consideration (vii) communication and interpersonal skills (viii) cultural appreciation (ix) entrepreneurship (x) teamwork (xi) leadership (xii) EQ (xiii)  physical fitness and  (xiv) sportsmanship.

The Objectives of SPECIAL

  • to encourage students to adopt a self-directed and planned approach to all-round development
  • to promote a comprehensive developmental path in pursuit of all-roundness; and
  • to motivate students to develop and enhance their generic competencies proactively and purposefully.

Identify your developmental needs, you can track down in your SPECIAL ePortfolio your personal strengths and weaknesses, your fitness level and psychological health status.

Set goal & plan

plan specific goals.  Work out action plans in order to meet the goals.

Get experience

Join co-curricular activities which can help you develop your personal competencies.  Get working experience and placement opportunities to enhance your workplace competencies.

Document your experience

Reflect on your co-curricular or internship experiences and take note of your growth and achievements.  Record your learning progress of the competencies you first set as learning objectives.  Collect relevant examples and evidence of your generic skills.

SPECIAL ePortfolio

The SPECIAL e-Portfolio is an all-in-one portal designed to facilitate students to review personal progress and achieve goals in personal, academic or professional development. To check personal profile or special scores earned from participation in co-curricular activities, students can log into e-Portfolio.
