Programme Aims
The programme aims to provide a unique educational opportunity for top-performing undergraduate students to grapple with global challenges through interdisciplinary studies. This programme is designed to inspire students to adopt an innovative, interest-driven and inspiring approach in their academic journey, offering them flexible learning pathways and curriculum options, personalised coaching, and in-depth mentorship and guaranteed outside-classroom and non-local learning opportunities, allowing them to excel in their academic pursuits.
Learning Outcomes
The programme intended learning outcomes of BDSIS are outlined below. After completing the programme, students will be able to:
- Examine real-world issues from an interdisciplinary perspective, evaluate information critically and synthesise different viewpoints to form a holistic understanding.
- Integrate and apply in-depth knowledge and modes of thinking from two or more disciplines to develop innovative and entrepreneurial solutions to complex local, national and/or global challenges.
- Demonstrate readiness to lead with integrity, pride, professionalism and commitment in specific areas of sustainable development and engage in initiatives for creating a sustainable future for the benefit of society.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with people from different disciplines and sectors with sensitivity and understanding.
