The Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments (DIMS) Spectacle Lens offers a non-drug and non-invasive method to retard myopic progression in children.

Comprising a central optical zone for correcting refractive error (i.e. myopia and astigmatism) and multi-segments of constant myopic defocus surrounding the central zone and extending to mid-periphery of the lens, the DIMS Spectacle Lens provides clear vision and myopic defocus for vision correction simultaneously for the wearer at all viewing distances. Clinical trials showed that DIMS lens could help slow down myopia progression through controlling the excessive growth in the length of the eyeball.
