Recently, students from PolyU, Peking University, Kyoto University and Ewha Womans University joined an unconventional study tour under the China-Japan-Korea SERVE Initiative, a programme co-organised by PolyU’s Global Youth Leadership Institute and the University Social Responsibility Network for the first time. They visited Kyoto to learn about the concept of active ageing in Japan. One of the key activities was for students to collaborate with the local elderly in organising an innovative STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) programme to teach local children basic science knowledge.
